Music in four acts – Part One: Winter.
A visual interpretation of melancholy.
The Austrian band Max Holz represents nostalgic-melancholic Balkan sounds in a touchingly intimate way. The album ‘Winter’ is the first of a cycle of four seasonally themed releases.
The task was to develop a musical identity and a visual language that can be implemented across all four releases. The visual language should echo the cyclic resonance of the music.
The solution was found in the definition of a reusable symbol, in this case a wreath, that communicates the different seasons and the music’s spirit and tone.
